5-th Avenue Shopping center

Modern shopping and entertainment center in the northwestern district of Moscow

About

The concept of the updated shopping center "5 Avenue" is aimed at improving the quality of life for people by creating a project that strives to achieve harmony between everyday tasks and leisure. We have added coworking spaces, lounge areas with Wi-Fi, a convenient children's room for mothers and babies, educational centers for children, as well as safe and colorful playgrounds, fountains, bike parking, cloakrooms, and pickup points. At BLANK, we believe that the key to the success of any shopping and entertainment center lies in the right balance between work and personal life, as well as opportunities for relaxation at any time.

01

Architecture

The "5th Avenue" project represents a new interpretation of a modern shopping center, focusing on smooth and curved building forms. We preserved the existing concrete frame and wrapped it in lightweight, brightly colored panels that will be illuminated at night. The entrance areas are designed with wooden cubes that invite visitors to enter. We use the same color schemes as in the interior, with decorative wooden panels, creating a cohesive style. To emphasize the presence of a green market on the third floor, we added decorative awnings reminiscent of street markets, as well as open windows and terraces that highlight the fresh market and new cafes. The first floor features open showcases that will be accessible to visitors in warm weather. The facade design reflects the local atmosphere and visually conveys the changes in the interior. We used natural materials and bright colors to create a harmonious space.

02

Interior

We wanted to create a relaxing atmosphere using natural materials such as stone, wood, and greenery. The main galleries and atriums will be designed in pure white tones with wooden elements, ensuring maximum natural light. We added color through furniture and small details, and for the children's play areas, we used recycled materials themed around popular characters. The design focuses on functionality and comfort for visitors, with an emphasis on the accessibility of essential services. The first floor features an open atrium with restaurants and meeting spaces, decorated in white with wooden panels. The second floor is designed for families with children, where a safe and bright area of 20 m² in the style of "Angry Birds" has been created. We have updated the restrooms and rooms for mothers with children to ensure maximum comfort. Each relaxation area includes a nursing corner, a small playground, a food warming station, and a restroom for children.

03

Landscape

Our team of landscape architects has developed a project that represents a harmonious combination of wild grasses swaying in the wind. We use various types of wild grasses, bulrush, burdock, and many other plants. Our climate allows us to observe how the landscape changes throughout the year, and it looks stunning both in winter and summer. This project highlights the beauty of natural forms and creates a unique atmosphere for visitors to the shopping center.

Brand and wayfinding

We were pleased to collaborate with the Bleed studio team from Oslo during the rebranding and renaming of the project. We aimed to create a unique and modern shopping center that would serve not only as a shopping destination but also as a cultural hub for the residents and visitors of the city.
