Tsar Quay — Embankment
Tsar Quay Embankment
About the project
Vladivostok has the unique opportunity of becoming the gateway for Russia to a large part of Asia. The ‘Golden Horn’ bay waterfront is a strategic spot in the city of Vladivostok. A new promenade along the coastline is the central idea of this master plan. This public area presents the ideal conditions for a pleasant stroll and recreational activities with views over the Golden Horn bay.
Concept
The objective was to make this part of the city a vibrant and lively part of downtown Vladivostok. This redevelopment of the existing old military harbor area will reconnect the bay to the city. The whole complex of existing buildings was created in a unified architectural style with red brick detailing. This architecture will be conserved to maintain the history and atmosphere of the harbor. The different functional characteristics and atmospheres of each of the areas form the basis for 24-hour lively entertainment, recreational activities, working and living.
